2015 Honeynet Project Workshop

18-20 May 2015 | Stavanger Norway

Getting to Stavanger

Flights

The main airport in Stavanger is Sola Airport, which is located less than 20 minutes’ drive from the city centre. There are several airline operators that connect to Stavanger with SAS, KLM, and Norwegian offering direct flights to Stavanger from several international locations. The airport code is SVG.

On Arrival – Getting to Stavanger City Centre

By bus: Stavanger city centre is easily accessible from Sola Airport, with a regular bus connection taking you to and from hotels, the central railway station, bus terminal, and Ferry Terminal. Public transport is efficient and reliable in Stavnager and one of the most cost effective ways to get to the city centre. The airport bus stop terminal is located directly outside the airport exit doors. See Fly Bussen for more information on tickets and timetables.

By taxi: There are several taxi’s available for hire at a designated taxi terminal directly outside the airport exit doors. Whilst taxi hire is convenient and can take you to a specific location, the cost of taxi hire is set at a premium price for the airport route to the city centre. Public transport is recommended for a more cost effective connection to the city centre.

Hotels in Stavanger

There are a wide variety of hotels centrally located in Stavanger within 10-miinutes of the event venue, which is easily accessible by regular local buses. See below.
Honeynet Project has also arranged for a special discount code for event participants that want to stay at the Clarion Hotel Energy, where the event is taking place. These are on a first come basis and will be provided upon confirmation of ticket registration. See here to book your ticket.

Getting Around – Stavanger City Centre

Stavanger has a relatively small city centre that is easy to navigate. An efficient local bus service will connect you to many locations around and outside of the city centre including the event venue located just 10-minutes’ drive from the city centre.
Regular public buses will take you from Stavanger city centre to the Clarion Hotel Energy including bus numbers 6 and 7 from the main Stavanger bus station. These buses run every 15 minutes to and from the Clarion Hotel Energy, which is located directly beside the bus stop by the DNB Arena venue.
You can easily plan your travel by bus using Google Maps for directions or by viewing the local bus company website for Kolumbus travel here.
