The Cédric Blancher Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Cédric Blancher, a noted information security researcher and long-time Honeynet Project member who passed away in late November, 2013 at the age of 37. He was a much sought after speaker and expert on WiFi security. Cédric made long lasting friendships all over the world and his enthusiasm and joy for life made him beloved by many. He will be sorely missed by a very large group of people. The Honeynet Project has established a scholarship in his honor to be awarded to an outstanding university student pursuing studies in information security. The winner of this scholarship gets free registration to all of the public events sponsored by the Honeynet Project and is presented to the conference audience on the first day of the workshop.
Public Day Briefing Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students studying information security at the university level. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply. This scholarship grants the winners free registration to the first public briefing day of the annual Honeynet Project workshop.
Public Day Training Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students studying information security at the university level. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply. You should check the training topics listed for this year at the annual workshop to ensure that there is at least one public training topic that you are interested in and have the prerequisite background for. This scholarship grants the winners free registration to one training session on the public training days of the annual Honeynet Project workshop.
Service Scholarship
Each year the Honeynet Project awards two Service Scholarships to university students at the undergraduate or graduate level studying information security. These two scholarships involve having the winners assist with some of the logistical duties at the conference such as registration, set up and other duties. Usually those duties are brief and the winners are then free for the rest of the day. Winners of this scholarship receive a free registration for the public briefing day.
Additional Information
The scholarships consist of the waiver of registration fees for the events designated by each scholarship. Travel expenses to/from Stavanger and lodging expenses while there are the responsibility of the winner. Any visa fees are also the responsibility of the winners. If a letter of invitation is needed for visa for entry into Norway, the workshop committee will provide one for the winner.
